Day 1:

Welcome to Italy! The tour kicks off in Rome with a locally guided tour of the city. Get to know Rome’s rich history, ancient monuments and lively local culture. Once the centre of the Roman Empire, today, Rome is one of the most popular travel destinations in the world! Look forward to seeing famous bucket list sites including the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and more.

Day 2:

Rome: Optional Free Day

Rise and shine and enjoy a full day to explore Rome! Customise the way you’d like the group to discover Rome today. A guided tour of Vatican City is highly recommended. Join the optional excursion to see the fascinating Vatican Museums along with the breathtaking Sistine Chapel and its famous ceiling painted by Michelangelo. Explore the rest of the city and choose to walk in the footsteps of gladiators on visits to the Colosseum, Roman Forum and more!

Day 3:

Rome - Siena - Venice

The Italian journey continues today. First stop, Siena! This beautiful city is famous for hosting the Palio di Siena horse race. After free time in Siena, travel on to one of Italy’s most beloved destinations, Venice! The famous “floating city” is buzzing with art, culture and history! Be sure to take note of the top attractions to visit during the free day tomorrow. Highlights include St. Mark’s Square, the Doge’s Palace and the Rialto Bridge.

Day 4:

Venice: Free Day

Venice has been captured in art and literature for centuries and today is your chance to discover the city’s magic! Start with an orientation tour with your tour director who will point out the city’s top attractions and enjoy a gondola ride along Venice’s famous waterways! Customise the rest of today to perfectly suit your interests! Keen on learning about local Venetian crafts? Choose to explore the lagoon and see the islands of Murano and Burano which are famous for traditional glass-blowing and lace-making.

Day 5:

Venice - Swiss Alps

Say arrivederci to Italy and travel to Switzerland. Cross the border into the Swiss Alps and enjoy a scenic drive full of impressive Alpine scenery! Think mountains, crystalline lakes and quaint villages! Later, arrive at the accommodation for the next two nights in Switzerland’s picturesque Jungfrau region. After checking in, enjoy dinner and spend the rest of tonight relaxing with your fellow explorers. Be sure to get some rest before your full day exploring this incredible region of the Swiss Alps tomorrow!

Day 6:

Swiss Alps: Optional Free Day

Make the most of a free day in the Swiss Alps! Join the highly recommended excursion to Jungfraujoch - known as the ‘Top of Europe’! Journey to the top by cable car or cogwheel train. Arrive and admire the epic views! Enjoy the year-round snow, see the 22km Aletsch Glacier, visit the Ice Palace and check out the Sphinx Observatory. It’s sure to be a fun-filled day! Other options are available including visits to nearby towns or local hikes. Complete the day with an optional Swiss family-style dinner.

Day 7:

Swiss Alps - Black Forest

Today, it’s time to travel to Germany. Cross the border and embark on a scenic drive through the magnificent Black Forest! Make a comfort stop in Freiburg along the way. With dramatic mountains, babbling brooks, picturesque pine forests and rolling hills, this area is renowned for its storybook-like natural beauty. It also provided inspiration for many of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales! Arrive at tonight’s accommodation in the Black Forest later today.

Day 8:

Black Forest - Rhine Valley - Amsterdam

Continue through Germany to the beautiful Rhine Valley this morning. Arrive in Saint Goar and hop aboard for a Rhine River cruise to Boppard. This stretch of river boasts incredible scenery and the highest concentration of Gothic castles in Europe! Next, bid farewell to Germany and head to the Netherlands. Enjoy views of the Dutch countryside and a photo stop at the 17th-century Riekermolen windmill. Later, arrive in Amsterdam and see the city’s top sights from the water during a guided cruise along Amsterdam’s iconic canals.

Day 9:

Amsterdam: Optional Free Day

Get your fix of the best things to do in Amsterdam today! This city is a perennial favourite amongst travellers of all ages. Jump on a bicycle like the locals do and explore the city’s parks, discover the world-class museums or wander the streets to see the 17th century canal houses and fascinating architecture. Alternatively, get out of the city on a Dutch countryside tour for a taste of iconic Dutch experiences! Visit historic Dutch villages Volendam and Zaanse Schans and learn about how traditional Dutch cheese and clogs are crafted at a local farm.

Amsterdam - End of Tour
