Itinerary

Day 1:

Start of tour in London

Your two-week Europe tour begins today in London! First up is an orientation tour of Greenwich this morning. The afternoon is free to explore London. Join the London+ excursion for an opportunity to enjoy afternoon tea underneath the Cutty Sark ship and to take a cruise on the River Thames from Greenwich to Westminster, allowing you to see the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey!

Day 2:

London - Paris

Say farewell to London and travel onwards to Paris! Travel to the White Cliffs of Dover and get ready to cross the English Channel. Later today, arrive in “The City of Lights”! Enjoy a driving tour of the French capital and get ready to see top landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe!

Day 3:

Paris: Free Day

Today offers a full free day to experience one of the world’s most beloved cities! A great way to see the city is on the guided Paris+ excursion. You’ll get to enjoy a macaron tasting, visit a french perfumery, enjoy a lunchtime cruise along the River Seine Cruise and venture to the top of the Montparnasse Tower for panoramic views over the city! Paris is all about history, art and culture so be sure to absorb it all during your free day!

Day 4:

Burgundy - Swiss Alps

Bid Paris adieu this morning. Visit Burgundy with free time for lunch and experience this stunning region in the French countryside. In the town of Beaune, a visit to Hospices de Beaune is highly recommended. Later, prepare for a scenic drive across the border into Switzerland! Admire the landscapes - including dramatic mountains, blue lakes and quaint towns! Arrive in the Swiss Alps and make yourself at home for the next two nights.

Day 5:

Swiss Alps: Free Day

Dreaming of year-round snow? Today is just the day for it! Journey to the “Top of Europe” on the Jungfraujoch excursion. The view on the trip up to Europe’s highest train station is spectacular! Marvel at mountains, lakes and glaciers from the top, have a snowball fight and discover the magical ice palace! While in Switzerland, don’t miss out on trying real Swiss chocolate!

Day 6:

Pisa - Tuscany

Leave the mountains behind this morning as the tour travels to its next destination; Italy! First stop is the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Europe’s most popular landmarks. Snap some funny pictures “holding up” the tower! Later, travel towards Tuscany. The Tuscan region is renowned for its delicious food, rolling hills and impressive art and architecture.

Day 7:

Florence - Rome

Admire the views while travelling through the Tuscan region towards Florence. Arrive and embark on an orientation tour of this incredible city that is famous for Renaissance art and history. Then, travel onwards to Rome, Italy’s capital city! Arrive and enjoy free time or choose to visit the Vatican City on a guided tour. This is the smallest country in the world and is home to the spectacular Sistine Chapel (be sure to look up at the iconic ceilings painted by Michelangelo!).

Day 8:

Rome: Free Day

This free day in Rome is full of possibilities! The Colosseum is a must-see, especially if you want to learn more about its fascinating history of gladiator battles! You can also join a city tour and “Conquer the Capital!” See the many highlights of Rome including the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon.

Day 9:

Rome - Venice

Admire more of Italy’s impressive landscape as you leave Rome and head to Venice. Later, arrive in Italy’s beloved floating city! Venice has captured the hearts of millions of travellers around the world! On an orientation tour of Venice, see St. Marks Square, Doge’s Palace, Rialto Market and much more. Afterwards, we highly recommend seeing Venice from the water aboard a traditional gondola or water taxi trip through the canals!

Day 10:

Venice - Munich - Nuremberg

Arrivederci, Italy. This morning it’s time to travel to a brand new country, Germany! The first stop is Munich, the capital of Bavaria. Uncover centuries of history and see a city that is an exciting mix of old and new on a Munich orientation tour with your tour director. Next, travel to Nuremberg, an important and historic city that has been painstakingly reconstructed following devastating damage caused in WWII.

Day 11:

Nuremberg - Rhine Valley - Amsterdam

See more of Germany this morning as the tour makes its way to the magnificent Rhine Valley! Arrive in time for lunch with a view of the picturesque Rhine River. Next, admire the locally handcrafted cuckoo clocks with time to do a bit of souvenir shopping! Then, hop aboard a Rhine River cruise and marvel at the medieval castles and breathtaking cliffs from the ater. Finally, the tour continues onwards to Amsterdam. Arrive in the evening and get a good night’s rest before another full day of adventure tomorrow!

Day 12:

Amsterdam

This morning features another scenic cruise, this time along Amsterdam’s canals! Relax and take in the sights of this vibrant city as you explore the waterways. The rest of the day is free to explore Amsterdam’s colourful streets and neighbourhoods or visit one of its celebrated museums such as the Rijksmuseum or the Van Gogh Museum. Alternatively, add a tour of the Dutch countryside to your itinerary to discover local cheese, clogs and windmills!

Day 13:

Amsterdam - Bruges - London

The tour departs Amsterdam this morning to make its way back to London. Along the way, stop in the medieval city of Bruges, Belgium! Enjoy free time to explore this fairytale city and be sure to buy some Belgian chocolate to take home and try an authentic Belgian waffle. Later, it's time to cross back over the English Channel and travel back to London where this journey began.

Day 14:

End of tour in London

By now, you will have enjoyed two full weeks of incredible European adventures in the UK, France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium! The tour ends this morning after breakfast in London. The Young Explorer wishes you a safe trip home!
